Laptop Wings Its Way to RAFA

Fawley (March 21, 2006) -- The Itchen and Hamble Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association has recently purchased a laptop computer and printer following a donation of £500 from ExxonMobil at Fawley Refinery.

Mr H. D. Young, life vice-president of the Branch, said: "The RAF Association provides welfare assistance to those in need who are serving, or have served, in the RAF, together with their dependants. We are grateful to ExxonMobil for their support."

Mrs Iris Jones, who is a member of the committee and an organiser of the annual 'Wings Appeal' fundraising activities, said: "Our Branch has over 130 members and meetings are held at 7.30 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at The Royal British Legion Club, Netley. We hold many social events throughout the year including quizzes, dinners, Bingo, outings and talks and new members are always welcome. The computer will be used to produce our newsletters and keep us in touch with members who live throughout the Solent area."
