Fife (15 March 2007) -- Project staff from ExxonMobil Chemical's Fife Ethylene Plant at Mossmorran have donated £600 to the Leigh O'Brien Solvent Trust (LOST), a Methil-based charity, to help them combat solvent abuse throughout Fife.

The money was raised through one of the company's charity safety incentive schemes, which are designed to encourage employees and contractors to work safely. The donation was made on behalf of the team by Willie Paterson of Wood Group, which is carrying out installation work at the site. Willie had nominated LOST for a charity award.

Tony Physick (FEP Project manager), who organised the presentation, said: "The team obviously benefits on a daily basis by ensuring that Nobody Gets Hurt, but it is also great for us to see local organisations positively benefit from our safety. We appreciate that John O'Brien from LOST took time out from his busy schedule to come and tell us a bit about his organisation and the excellent work it has been doing".

John O'Brien, Chairman of LOST, said: "This donation will go a long way to assist us to educate young people on the dangers of gases, such as butane, and raise awareness in the community of Fife. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and workers of ExxonMobil and wish them a continued safe operation."
