Savings calculations are based on data provided for confirmed sharers in a Liftshare team on 21st October 2025 (utilizing data for CO2 savings, miles taken off the road and average cost of driving for confirmed sharers in a Liftshare team).
Average cost of driving is calculated based on 10,325 responses to the Mobilityways Commuter Census 2024, and its stated average days per week commuting and distance to work. Liftshare took the average cost of driving in 2024 from external sources such as RAC (which was used to calculate the suggested contribution on Liftshare), to calculate an annual cost per person (being 1.39 Price per Litre of Petrol and 39.8 Miles per Gallon. The saving amount is half of these annual costs, based on sharing with one other person.”
